Hearst Television's award-winning stations, staffed by some of the industry's most respected and critically acclaimed television and radio news journalists, deliver insightful, thought-provoking and essential news coverage to our local communities.

Our leadership extends to coverage of local news, weather and sports, on-air and on-line. With support from our Washington, DC, news bureau, we bring our viewers the issues straight from our nation's Capital, and we report local stories with national impact.

Hearst stations are recognized for their news coverage of the electoral process. As part of our group-wide biennial "Commitment" political-coverage projects, our stations produce: more than 130 hours of candidate/issue-centered coverage in the 30 days leading up to the November election; dozens of locally produced prime-time debates and "town hall" meetings, of at least an hour in length; and dozens of one-on-one programs of 30 minutes in length, focusing on candidate interviews and ballot initiatives.

The quality of our stations' news coverage is borne out by our stations' strong newscast ratings success and their consistently strong track record in garnering journalism awards.

Hearst has been five times honored with the Walter Cronkite Award - the premier honor for political-news reporting - from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School. In recent years, Hearst stations also have been honored with back-to-back duPont-Columbia Journalism Awards and University of Georgia George Foster Peabody Awards - both among television's highest honors. These recognitions have come in addition to several annual National Headliner Awards, regional EMMYs and Edward R. Murrow Awards, and "Best Newscast" and "Station of the Year" honors.
